Understanding meditative writing
Creative expression can sometimes be a daunting task. The goal of Meditative Writing is to use guided visual meditation and the psychology of creativity to help writers tap into their deepest artistry, use emotional truth to create stories, and get their writing flowing more effortlessly.
If you've ever found yourself faced with writer's block, feelings of self-doubt about your writing, lacking creative inspiration, or procrastinating, you are in good company. Every writer at some point has been plagued by these blockers. Whether you're an aspiring or established novelist, poet, screenwriter, playwright, songwriter, or journalist, everyone can benefit from creative guidance and internal exploration.
For more than 10 years, Meditative Writing has helped hundreds of writers reach their creative potential. Former participants have included Emmy award-winning writers and producers, Sundance award-winning filmmakers, New York Times best sellers, TV showrunners, and emerging artists in virtually every field.
Meditative Writing creator Jess Hinds has mentored writers working on dozens of shows including MINDHUNTER, WEST WORLD, MAD MEN, LEVERAGE, CONSTANTINE, BROAD CITY, SNL, THE GOLDBERGS, BLUE BLOODS, GAME OF THRONES, XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS, OCTOBER FACTION, WATCHMEN, HIGH MAINTENANCE and more. She has also mentored filmmakers who have seen their work place or win at Sundance, Austin Film Festival, Nicholl's Fellowship, Humanitas, as well as be nominated at the Emmys, the Oscars, and the Tonys.
There is no one size fits all approach to starting your meditative writing journey. Some writers begin by taking one workshop and then return to it again and again for continued inspiration. As each workshop is different and tailored to the needs of the participants, your output will always increase in volume and emotional depth. Others join one workshop and then move onto one-on-one sessions when they feel ready for more intensive and personalized creative support.
Discover how your deepest wounds can be transformed into your greatest strengths with the Meditative Writing practice.
