MEDITATIVE WRITING : Creative/Artistic Health
You know you are meant to create but you haven't been creating.
Or perhaps you sit down but the process feels empty.
Perhaps you haven't picked up your pen, paintbrush, guitar, or ballet slippers in months, days, years.
You are suffering but don't know what to do or where to start.
Or maybe you just might want to do some preventative care, knowing that the road will be hard ahead, so you want to give yourself the best chance of making it through the tough times.
If you would like a deep understanding and practice of artistic health you have come to the right place.
You are not broken. You are not lazy. You are not doomed.
You just don't understand what is happening neurologically. When we break down what is actually happening in your mind when you begin to even think about creating, it becomes much clearer what we need to do to develop a healthy process.
Over several weeks we will explore a wide range of cognitive and meditative tools that will give you specific actions to take when you need and help to rewire your mind and behavior in relationship to your art.
Classes are built around the needs of the participants. Subjects might include...

"Do this, it will make you feel less afraid and like you can work again. Jess has gotten me through some very severe, severe blocks. So these tools are valuable throughout your entire career. they are professional tools. "
- Carly Wray, MADMEN, MINDHUNTER, WESTWORLD
"I learned more in one session with Jess than I did in four years of NYU film school."
- Jenna, NYU FILM GRADUATE 2020
"In just 35 minutes Jess did more for my relationship with my artistry and writing than 7 years of therapy."
- Hanna, ARTIST
"Jessica opens the gates to limitlessness! She gives such freedom, it’s wonderful to live in a world without bounds, she is the best thing that ever happened to me!"
- Emma, WRITER/DANCER
“Meditative Writing truly is “assisted self-discovery.” For the same reason writers should take acting classes, Meditative Writing helps you get down into your body, to work a scene or character from the inside out. The practice has applications even beyond writing, into directing, pitching, and just being in the world. This class and subsequent practice has been extremely helpful to me in my work.”
– Christine Boylan, Writer/Producer at MARVEL/NETFLIX
"I went to therapy for two years and I feel that I got more from this class than I ever did doing that. I have learned so much about myself and my writing and my (lack of) discipline. I have reconnected with many characters that I have put on hold for one reason or another. "
- Shanna, FILMMAKER
Jess’s class has made me love writing again! The trips into my imagination inform my writing more each class!
- Steph, CREATOR
