Meditative Writing Workshop

The Psychology of Creativity & Storytelling

MEDITATIVE WRITING  Level ONE

“Meditative Writing truly is 'assisted self-discovery.' For the same reason writers should take acting classes, Meditative Writing helps you get down into your body, to work a scene or character from the inside out. The practice has applications even beyond writing, into directing, pitching, and just being in the world. This class and subsequent practice has been extremely helpful to me in my work.” – Christine Boylan (Showrunner, Marvel & Netflix)
The Meditative Writing Method will help you Suffer Less and Write More.

  • Find your flow state
  • Banish writer's block
  • Enhance your creativity
  • Build a healthier process to sustain your career
  • Reconnect with your inner artist
  • Write more intelligent, beautiful, and universal stories

In each session, cognitive and meditative exercises are designed to help you open your mind to new ideas and inspiration, tap into a deeper well of creativity, and write without judgment. These in-class guided meditations will ensure you leave each session with pages upon pages of new writing.

We will practice a new approach to creative writing grounded in the psychology of creativity, the truth of human behavior, and practices that enhance creative health, longevity, and j
oy.

Meditative Writing is open to all artists at any stage of their creative development. Whether you're a professional TV writer, a recovering journalist, or a first-time scribler, everyone can benefit from creative guidance and internal exploration.

Please have at least 30 minutes, five days a week, outside of class hours available to practice and explore assignments between classes.

This class is for writers/artists looking to develop their personal writing practice and scripts/manuscripts. If you are a teacher looking to develop or enhance your curriculum please click here and we will contact you about the appropriate workshops and mentorship options.
"These are professional-grade tools that short circuit the fear, imposter syndrome, and perfectionism that stands in the way of you doing your best work. I rely on them regularly!"
- Carly Wray (Writer/Producer, Mad Men, Westworld)
